Buckle Me Baby makes children's car seat clothing: winter coats, blankets, pajamas and sleep sacks designed to go on at home and stay on safely in a car seat.

Traditional winter coats are too bulky to be worn under a harness, so parents are told to take them off before buckling and put them back on every stop, all winter, in the cold.

Most parents either leave coats on (dangerously) or skip coats and book it in the cold.

Our coats are insulated with Seawool and pre-quilted flat, so the padding cannot compress under the harness, and split shoulder seams keep the harness directly on a child's chest and shoulders at the same setting used with no coat at all. Making parents lives easier and kids lives safer.

I was in a parking lot one January, fighting to take a winter coat off my daughter, knowing I would fight to put it back on her 15 mins later. I fought that fight every stop all winter, until I decided coats needed a redesign.

I invented Buckle Me Baby Car Seat Coats because parents need warm winter coats that go on at home and stay on safely in car seats.

Buckle Me Baby could have stayed a coat company but with time I realized parents were fighting more than coats. So I started building a category. Coats, blankets, pajamas, sleep sacks, all designed around car seat safety and the hours parents spend in the car.

I'm Dahlia Rizk, a Massachusetts mom of three and a Child Passenger Safety Technician, and I've put the coats through eight rounds of crash testing. I've also spent 19 years as a licensed mental health clinician and still run the two practices I built from the ground up. People find the combination strange. I don't. Both come from the same place: helping mothers carry less anxiety and giving them room to enjoy their lives.
