About the Business

Symba, recently acquired by Yello, is a workforce technology platform that transforms how employers onboard and engage new hires. Built for HR and early-career talent teams at organizations at Fortune 500 companies, Symba has powered onboarding for more than 22,000 new hires. Customers see an average 27% increase in conversion to full-time roles, a 90% increase in program NPS, and roughly one month of manual work returned to their teams each year.

Founded in 2017 as an action project during co-founder Ahva Sadeghi's civil rights fellowship with Congressman John Lewis, Symba was built on the conviction that talent is everywhere but access is not. A certified women-owned business, Symba has been named a leader in the future of work by Forbes.

Ahva Sadeghi

Ahva Sadeghi is an entrepreneur and growth leader focused on the future of work. She co-founded Symba in 2018 after seeing how few young people had real access to meaningful career opportunities, and built it into a venture-backed platform that partnered with Fortune 500 companies and government agencies to support more than 22,000 early career professionals. Symba was acquired by Yello in 2025, where Ahva now serves as VP of Growth and Business Development.

Her path to entrepreneurship started in public service. She worked as a Research Analyst at the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor and served as a John Lewis Human Rights and Civil Rights Fellow, experiences that shaped her belief that economic opportunity is a civil rights issue. Symba went on to win first place in the GSV Cup at the ASU+GSV Summit, and Ahva has been named to Forbes 30 Under 30 and Inc.’s Top 250 Female Founders.

Ahva is also a thought leader and an expert contributor on the Forbes Business Council and hosts an award winning podcast in titled #OpenUpTheWorkforce.

Ahva lives in San Francisco, teaches yoga at CorePower, and mentors first-generation students building their own paths into the workforce.
