Intersecting Lines is a research and evaluation consultancy serving foundations, nonprofits, and the leaders working to make communities more just. The firm designs and leads program evaluations, learning agendas, research studies, theories of change, and facilitated convenings, drawing on a network of consultants who bring both rigor and care to the work. It exists on a straightforward conviction: research earns its place in social impact work when it moves an organization closer to the change it set out to make. Evaluation designed with communities surfaces what evaluation designed about them will miss, and it gives leaders what they need to sharpen strategy, direct resources, and show funders and communities what their work is producing.

Tanya Moore's path into this work started with math. She studied mathematics at Spelman College, and completed a doctorate in biostatistics at UC Berkeley. She spent the years that followed across public health, education policy, and workforce development, designing community programs, leading evaluations, managing teams, and facilitating multi-agency collaboratives. From those seats she saw the same pattern: evaluation designed far from the work, delivered after the decisions were made, and rarely useful to the people running the program. She founded Intersecting Lines in 2020 to do it differently. The consultancy partners with foundations and nonprofits on evaluation, learning agendas, research design, and facilitation, built on the conviction that research is most powerful in service of something and that work designed with communities outlasts work designed for them. A co-founder of the Infinite Possibilities Conference, she remains committed to supporting women in mathematics. Tanya joined the Tory Burch Foundation Fellows Program in 2026 to grow the reach of that work and to build alongside a network of women entrepreneurs she finds genuinely inspiring.
