About the Business
Brutus Broth is a female founded company committed to pet nutrition and giving back to the community. Co-founders and sisters Sue Delegan and Kim Hehir were inspired to share their family’s bone broth recipe credited with prolonging the life of their senior rescue dog, Brutus, with the goal of making nutritious, high quality pet-safe bone broth affordable and accessible to all pet parents. Brutus Broth is now available in over 20,000 stores as well as online through Chewy and Amazon.
With a mission is to “nourish your pet while giving back to the community,” Brutus Broth works with hundreds of animal shelters nationwide, providing support for animals that are rehabbing from surgeries, are malnourished or need encouragement to eat.
Kim Hehir
Kim serves as the Co-Founder and President of Brutus Broth, a pet nutrition company with a mission to nourish your pet while giving back to the community. Sold in over 20,000 stores nationwide, Brutus Broth was listed in Inc. Magazine’s fastest growing companies in the nation in 2026, is the winner of several Pet Innovation awards and is a Pet Sustainability Coalition Top Performing member.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Kim currently serves as a Board member for the Kapi’olani Medical Center for Women and Children and as an Entrepreneur in Residence for the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at Cornell University (2024-Present). She is a member of the President’s Council for Cornell Women (Athletic Mentoring Committee Chair 2017-2020), the Cornell Hotel Society (NYC President from 2004-2006), the Young President’s Organization’s Spousal Forum and PEO. She is a published author and has received several awards including Inc Magazine’s Top Female Founders, Forbes 50 over 50, the Woman of Distinction award by the Girl Scouts of America, One of the Most Powerful Women in Travel by Travel Agent Magazine and was also inducted into the Canterbury School Hall of Fame for soccer.
