Stephanie Bolton (she/her) owns Patriot Roofing & Exteriors and Salty Gutters. She is a licensed general contractor with over 25 years of experience in the construction industry.
After 15 years of practicing construction law, Stephanie traded her suits for boots and continued the 150-year family tradition of roofing and construction.
At Patriot, she guides a team of 20 employees while taking on some of the industry’s biggest challenges: coastal conditions, extreme weather, historic preservation, an aging workforce, and the industry's historically non-diverse workforce. 90% white and 90% male.
Stephanie is a Past President of the Wilmington Historical Foundation Board of Trustees. She has gone from the only woman in her family company to recruiting and retaining a truly diverse workforce. 70% white and 50% male. In 2023, Stephanie was presented the Award for Excellence by the North Carolina Office for Historically Underutilized Businesses for her outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion.
